CommonMark for WordPress

Markdown provides an efficient way to create formatted content for the web in plain text. Unlike a WYSIWYG editor, you use special characters like an asterisk, number sign, underscore or dashes to the text to indicate which words and phrases should look different. Markdown syntax was designed to be readable and unobtrusive, so the content in Markdown files can be read even if it isn’t rendered. Markdown is now one of the world’s most popular markup languages.

All content on dotmycom is written in pure Markdown rendered to html using the league/commonmark parser adhering to the full CommonMark Specifications.

As you can see in the above example the content is very readable and easy to follow even though not fully rendered. It allows for fast post editing and consistent formatting.
